Dr.Françoise Mukagaju is Rwanda’s first female plastic surgeon and a role model for many, including Vicky. She knows what it is like to be a woman in a male-dominated field and had to face prejudice from both patients and colleagues as she gradually built her reputation.

Today, Françoise is committed to empowering other women in medicine. She encourages them to step forward and take command in the operating room – an essential quality for anyone who wants to succeed as a surgeon.

Vicky turns to Françoise for support as she works to build her confidence, struggling at times with doubts about her ability to become a plastic surgeon.
